This piece was commissioned by the Youngstown Cultural Art Center as a way to artistically commemorate the donors to their capitol campaign.
The center was made from a historic school building, so the mosaic depicts elements of the neighborhood’s origins, including the original West Seattle Bridge, as well as the steel mill whose employee's children were the attendees of the school. Donors’ names are carved into pieces of the original slate chalkboards.
